At 2 AM Pacific Time, Bungie will drop The Prestige mode for The Leviathan Raid.
According to Bungie:
Combat against other Guardians not your thing? The ultimate PVE challenge also arrives in your Director on Tuesday at 10AM Pacific. The morning after the weekly reset begins a new invitation from Calus to join him for the Prestige Raid.
We do not expect everyone to be successful in completing this activity. Mechanical changes to the encounters are minimal, but they are there. The Prestige Raid is about mastering a more punishing sandbox. Our goal is not to provide a boon to your character progression, but there are unique rewards to help you shine. Consider this your invitation to prove to the world that you are among the very best of the Raiders who overlook the City.
World First will be counted. We can tell you no more.
Good luck!
Recommended Light is 300. It's currently unknown how the advanced Raid encounters will play out, but many speculate it has to do with the dozen of closed doors around The Leviathan. That said, previous Raids have merely added or advanced previous mechanics. While this is the most likely option, Guardians entering at launch time would be wise to check for any tricks Bungie's planning.
As Lord Saladin once said, "Better to check wild speculation on the internet than to be bamboozled by Bungie."
I'd expect Bungie to be far stingier with revive tokens, or not include them at all. Previous Hard-mode Raids had no-revive policies that had teams wiping continuously. With complaints that Destiny 2 lacks much of an end-game, it's hoped that Bungie will innovate with the Prestige Raid and give players something to chew on for the next few weeks.
